Overview
SmartTradersIndia operates a conditional fee model โ Platform Service Fees are charged only when two conditions are simultaneously true: (1) the User's trading P&L for that algorithm is positive in the billing month, and (2) cumulative P&L exceeds the User's High Water Mark. Because the fee system already ensures you only pay when you profit, deducted fees are treated as non-refundable.
This policy covers three categories of charges:
- โPlatform Service Fees (monthly algorithm subscription fees)
- โSTI Wallet top-up balance (prepaid wallet credits)
- โExtra linked account fees
Platform Service Fees โ Non-Refundable
Monthly Platform Service Fees that have been successfully deducted from the STI Wallet are non-refundable for the following reasons:
- โFees are charged only after independent confirmation that the billing month was profitable for that algorithm.
- โFees are charged only after independent confirmation that the User's cumulative P&L has exceeded their High Water Mark.
- โA GST-compliant tax invoice is issued for each fee deduction, creating an irrevocable tax event.
- โThe fee directly reflects genuine new profitable performance delivered by the Platform in that billing period.
If you believe a fee was charged in error (e.g., a system error resulted in incorrect P&L calculation), please contact support within 7 days of the billing date. We will investigate and correct any verified errors promptly.
STI Wallet Balance โ Refundable
Unused balance remaining in your STI Wallet is refundable on request, subject to the following conditions:
- โThere are no pending Platform Service Fees due for the current or prior billing periods.
- โYour account has no active subscription with a pending billing event within the next 7 days.
- โThe refund request is for a minimum amount of โน100.
- โYour account KYC is complete and bank account details are verified.
- โThere are no active disputes, fraud investigations, or account suspensions on your account.
Approved wallet refunds are processed to the verified bank account on file. We do not refund to UPI IDs, third-party accounts, or different bank accounts than the one verified during KYC.
GST (18%) already charged on any Platform Service Fees deducted from the wallet cannot be refunded, as the GST has been remitted to the Government of India.
Extra Linked Account Fees
Fees for additional linked accounts (โน499/month per account on Advanced and Pro plans) are charged on the same billing cycle as Platform Service Fees.
- โExtra account fees charged for a completed billing month are non-refundable.
- โIf an extra account is removed before the end of a billing month, a prorated credit is applied to the STI Wallet for the unused days.
- โProration formula: Fee ร (remaining_days รท days_in_month).
Prorated Credits on Unsubscription
When a User unsubscribes from a live algorithm mid-month, the fee for that month is prorated:
- โIf the month was profitable and above HWM: prorated fee = full_monthly_fee ร (days_active รท days_in_month).
- โIf the month was not profitable or below HWM: no fee for that month regardless of days active.
- โThe difference between a pre-estimated fee and the final prorated charge, if already deducted, is credited back to the STI Wallet.
How to Request a Wallet Refund
To request a refund of your unused STI Wallet balance:
Non-Refundable Cases
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- โPlatform Service Fees already charged for profitable months above HWM.
- โAccounts suspended or terminated due to policy violations, abuse, or fraud.
- โWallet top-ups made via payment methods that have already been disputed or charged back.
- โRefund requests made more than 90 days after the wallet top-up date.
- โCases where the refund amount is less than โน100 (minimum refund threshold).
- โFees associated with services already rendered (completed billing months).
Payment Gateway Disputes
If you have initiated a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment gateway for a SmartTradersIndia transaction, please contact us first at support@smarttradersindia.com. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in permanent account suspension. We will cooperate fully with payment gateway dispute resolution processes.
